French defender Abdo Diallo joins french club PSG after 1 season at Borussia Dortmund. The 23 years old France U-21 captain didn’t travel to the United States with the Black and Yellows ahead of his move to the French Ligue 1.
Despite playing at different positions last season, Diallo showed a great ability to play as a center back alongside Manuel Akanji, he also successfully replaced, more than once, Achraf Hakimi in the left-back position.
Abdou Diallo’s departure is due to the depth that the Borussia Dortmund squad has in the center back position with veterans like Mats Hummels and Manuel Akanji as well as youngsters in the likes of Dan Axel Zagadou and Leonardo Balerdi.
However, this move caught BVB fans by surprise. Abdou Diallo is one of the players who were very consistent last season and were expected to contribute for next season’s ambitions. Borussia Dortmund agreed to a 31 million Euros deal with Paris Saint-Germain. We wish Abdou Diallo the best of luck for his new adventure in the Ligue 1.
From the 2005 Borussia Dortmund, till the title winning squad in 2011 and UEFA Champions League runner up era, Mostafa was always a very passionate Black and Yellow supporter. You would often see him in Coffee shops and Bars on Matchdays. He will be wearing a BVB jersey and sipping on a German beer and most likely swearing at the referee.
