It had to come. Borussia Dortmund’s unbeaten run ended in Dusseldorf, where the German giants lost to local team 2-1.
Fortuna Dusseldorf’s Tactical Masterclass
Facing Borussia Dortmund isn’t an easy task for most Bundesliga teams. The Black and Yellows have showed their excellent ability to break the tightest of defenses. However, Dusseldorf’s defensive game seemed unbreakable to Lucien Favre and his team. The host team players sat very deep and didn’t allow Borussia Dortmund’s attackers to create chances.
Lucien Favre’s decision to include Jadon Sancho and Paco Alcacer seemed very logical. Although Alcacer managed to reduce the difference in the 78th minute, Borussia Dortmund were unable to equalize and therefore lost 2-1.
Borussia Dortmund Lose in Dusseldorf ahead of big game
The Bundesliga leaders are facing strong competition this season. Therefore more vigilance is required to win this season’s Bundesliga title. One of the toughest challenges is the upcoming match day against Borussia Monchengladbach. The second team is trailing Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga with only 6 points behind. Marco Reus and company must not let this setback hinder their self confidence.
From the 2005 Borussia Dortmund, till the title winning squad in 2011 and UEFA Champions League runner up era, Mostafa was always a very passionate Black and Yellow supporter. You would often see him in Coffee shops and Bars on Matchdays. He will be wearing a BVB jersey and sipping on a German beer and most likely swearing at the referee.
