Borussia Dortmund victorious after 5-1 masterclass against FC. Koln. After an important win in Augsburg, the BVB are hosts of the Friday night Bundesliga. The game against FC Koln seemed to be Dortmund’s opportunity to assert dominance. Not only is Jadon Sancho in top form, but the newcomer, Erling Haaland is taking the Bundesliga by storm. Despite only playing two games so far in the German top-flight championship, Haaland already has 5 goals to his name.
Upon the start of the game, Borussia Dortmund got to business right away, with Sancho providing a silver-plated ball to Guerreiro who scores the first goal in the 2nd minute. Despite FC Koln wanting to respond, Borussia Dortmund players dominated the midfield and possession. In the 29th minute, after a long pass by Mats Hummels, Marco Reus scored a goal that VAR had to review, fortunately granting the goal to BVB to make it 2-0.
In the second half, after a well built-up team play, Marco Reus provides Sancho with a perfect pass, the Englishman succeeded to put in the back of the net. After that, Borussia Dortmund dropped back and maintained a defensive stance. However, the defense wasn’t good enough to prevent a goal by Mark Uth to bring FC Koln back in the competition. With 3-1 on the scoreboard, Lucien Favre pushes Haaland in place of Hazard. With 25 minutes left on the clock, Erling Haaland didn’t waste any time, scoring the fourth goal in the 77th minute and the fifth 10 minutes later. Thus granting Borussia Dortmund a comfortable win and a very important 3 points.
From the 2005 Borussia Dortmund, till the title winning squad in 2011 and UEFA Champions League runner up era, Mostafa was always a very passionate Black and Yellow supporter. You would often see him in Coffee shops and Bars on Matchdays. He will be wearing a BVB jersey and sipping on a German beer and most likely swearing at the referee.
