Marco Reus Squanders a Penalty in draw against Mainz

Borussia Dortmund hosted Mainz for Matchday 16. The home team’s start of the game promised a good end result. Haaland’s goal was overturned by VAR for offside. After that, Marco Reus and co. kept trying to find a way to score but were denied on several occasions by the opposition’s goalkeeper. The last minutes of the first half saw a substitution of Zagadou due to what looks like a foot injury.
In the second half, Borussia Dortmund’s players looked eager to score some goals. They managed the game pretty well until Öztunali scores a stunner from an individual effort. Bellingham, who was arguably the best player throughout the entire game, sees himself substituted for Moukoko. At the 73rd minute, BVB fans felt some hope of getting the three points after Meunier scored his first goal for BVB. The same player managed to secure a penalty for his team shortly afterward. Despite all odds, Marco Reus shoots wide of the target. The game ended on 1-1 keeping the black and yellows at 4th place behind Bayern Leverkusen, the team they are facing on Tuesday.
From the 2005 Borussia Dortmund, till the title winning squad in 2011 and UEFA Champions League runner up era, Mostafa was always a very passionate Black and Yellow supporter. You would often see him in Coffee shops and Bars on Matchdays. He will be wearing a BVB jersey and sipping on a German beer and most likely swearing at the referee.
