Nico Schulz Signs for Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund’s relative success this season was due to a number of factors. Despite lots of sloppy mistakes that were very costly, the defense is one of the most important reasons the Black and Yellows finished 3 points short of a Bundesliga title.
Contrary to the first half of the season, the defensive instability in the second half was devastating. Therefore, Borussia Dortmund’s plan for next season is to strengthen the back four. This decision led to the signing of one of the Bundesliga’s top full backs.
Nico Schulz is Marcel Schmelzer’s Replacement
Today, Borussia Dortmund announced the signing of Nico Schulz from TSG Hoffenheim. The 26 years old German international signed a 5-year contract in a 30M€ deal. BVB fans will probably have to deal with a Schmelzer exit, therefore a replacement was very important.
Nico Schulz made 30 appearances for TSG Hoffenheim this season scoring 1 goal and setting up 6. He has an attacking playstyle with explosive speed. Schulz played 6 international games with the NationalMannschaft scoring 2 goals.
More Signings to be Announced in the coming days
Borussia Dortmund is going to spend this some money on the summer transfers. Nico Schulz is just a start as players like Thorgan Hazard and Julian Brandt are linked with a move to the Signal Iduna Park for next season.
From the 2005 Borussia Dortmund, till the title winning squad in 2011 and UEFA Champions League runner up era, Mostafa was always a very passionate Black and Yellow supporter. You would often see him in Coffee shops and Bars on Matchdays. He will be wearing a BVB jersey and sipping on a German beer and most likely swearing at the referee.
